Bay Area, a birthday, and a baby

For Brian's 31st birthday, we headed up to the Bay Area for the long weekend. We stayed with Brian's high school friend and her husband for the weekend and traveled up to Napa for a day and into San Francisco for a day. Aiden was all smiles as usual and (thankfully!) a happy camper on the plane. We looked at this as a test run for our upcoming trip to Japan in April... I know, I know... a 1 hour plane flight and 11 hour plane flight are about as similar as cows and chickens, but at least we know Aiden isn't opposed to flying through the skies.

Aiden was friendly with the pilot so we got to go up front. Lucky kid. (Ok, I was kind of excited too.)

Cheryl made a yummy cake for Brian. Aiden wasn't sure what to think of the candles.

We headed out to Napa for a day. We went to a castle winery. It was a little corny, but it made for beautiful photos. The light was perfect when we arrived. Plus, I liked how they had chickens and sheep roaming the property. On the drive through Napa valley, the vineyards were filled with beautiful yellow wildflowers.

The next day we headed into San Francisco. We started our day out with coffee at a place called Sight Glass, then hiked to the top of Twin Peaks for a great view of the city and had lunch at Bar Tartine. It was unseasonably warm and beautiful in San Francisco. Hope to make it back there soon. Cheryl helped us get some fun family pictures too.
